PAROMA-MED at IEEE ICC 2024 in Denver

From 9–13 June 2024 PAROMA-MED partners from 6GHI were present at the IEEE ICC 2024 in Denver. The focus of the conference was on “Scaling the Peaks of Global Communications“.  There was a comprehensive high-quality technical program including 13 symposia and a variety of tutorials and workshops.  The IEEE ICC 2024 also included an attractive industry program aimed at practitioners, with keynotes and panels from prominent research, industry and government leaders, business and industry panels, and technological exhibits.

The project organized and presented in the workshop called “The global digital transformation of the healthcare industry -Requirements for future networked medical devices and data spaces including embedded systems, standards, security, privacy”. The workshop included presentations from invited speakers, including Prof. Christoph Thümmler, CMO of the 6GHI, Prof. Neeli Prasad, Founder/CTO, TrustedMobi “VehicleAvatar Inc.“, CA, USA, IEEE VTS Board of Governors Member, Dr. Angelica Avilla Castillo, Project Manager at the 6GHI, Dr. Peiying Zhu from HUAWUEI, as well as our colleague Ashish Sundar, Head of medical Technology at the 6GHI.

The aim of this workshop was to provide an overview on ongoing relevant technological developments in the health sector and to fuel initial discussions about early 6G pre-standardization, security, and privacy for the European project PAROMA MED. Additionally, the growing need for a 6G health coalition based on existing 5G vertical coalitions were also discussed,

The project PAROMA-MED is committed to sustainably digitalize the healthcare industry to improve patient care. In this regard, connections are crucial for this mission, and we are delighted by the strong interest in our work at the IEEE International Conference on Communications in Denver 2024.
